Does Anyone Ever Think About Me?

Many of us have been scrolling through social media and have encountered someone who is

experiencing some form of difficulty. Perhaps they have a prayer request or are simply updating everyone on their current situation. You may have even felt the need to reach out to family and friends for requests in these times of crisis. Sometimes, though, we may question how many of those “friends” care about our situation and think any more of it after they scroll past our post.

Many of us may have asked, “Does anyone ever think of me?” Though some may comment on our post, we may still question whether anyone really cares. If you have ever asked this question, know that someone is concerned about you and what you are going through.

In 1 Peter 5:7, Peter tells us to cast our care upon God because He cares for us. How wonderful and amazing it is to think that the Creator of the universe, the Almighty, powerful God, with everything happening around the world, is concerned about me.

Peter tells us to cast all our care, or anxiety, upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). If you are like me, sometimes I think I can handle my problems myself and do not need help. In 1 Peter 5:6, we are told to humble ourselves before God, and He will lift us up in due time. I need to stop thinking I can carry all of this alone and lean on God for help through these times. I need to humble my pride and turn it over to God. Peter said to cast all, not some, not the ones that I think God is more concerned with, but all my cares.

When David was running from Saul and seemed to have no one to turn to, he turned to God (Psalm 142:1-7). Jesus, during His Sermon on the Mount, spoke about how God takes care of the birds and gives them all they need. He then asks how much more we are than the birds (Matthew 6:26). We may be like the apostles in the ship during the storm as Jesus was asleep and ask, “Carest thou not that we perish?” (Mark 4:38).

If you have ever been struggling and asked, “Does anyone ever think about me?” Please know that God is concerned about you and can take all your care and anxiety away. It is comforting to know that the Almighty God is concerned about me and wants to help carry those cares that seem to bring me down.
