Steps of Salvation--Bible Journaling Series

Renae Pogue

The next study in the Bible journaling series is salvation. We commonly refer to this plan as the “5 Steps of Salvation," but in reality, there are 6 steps. All verses are in the King James Version. I am focusing on one verse for each step but will list some additional verses to note as well.

To begin the study, in the front of your Bible or on a paper, write “Steps of Salvation - Romans 10:17”.

In your Bibles, turn to Romans 10:17. Next to this verse, write “hear”.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”

Underline the phrase, “faith cometh by," circle the word “hearing” (twice), and underline the phrase “by the Word of God.”

note John 6:44-45

At the end of the verse, write “Mark 16:16”.

Turn to Mark 16:16. Next to this verse, write “believe”.

“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

Underline “believeth”, circle “and”, underline “baptized”, circle “saved”, underline “believeth”, and circle “not”.

note Hebrews 11:6 and John 8:24

At the end of the verse, write “Luke 13:3."

Turn to Luke 13:3. Next to this verse, write “repent."

“I tell you, nay; but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

Underline “except ye repent” and circle “perish."

note Acts 2:38 and Acts 17:30

At the end of the verse, write “Romans 10:9-10."

Turn to Romans 10:9-10. Next to this verse, write “confess”.

“(9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Underline “confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus”, “believe in thine heart”, circle “saved”, underline “heart," circle “believeth," underline “mouth," and circle “confession."

note Matthew 10:32-33

At the end of the verse, write “Acts 2:38."

Turn to Acts 2:38. Next to this verse, write “baptism."

“Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Underline “repent”, circle “and”, underline “be baptized”, “in the name of Jesus Christ," circle “for," and underline “the remission of sins."

note Mark 16:16, Matthew 28:19-20 and 1 Peter 3:21

At the end of the verse, write “Revelation 2:10."

Turn to Revelation 2:10. Next to this verse, write “live faithfully."

“Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.”

Underline “fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer," “be thou," circle “faithful," underline “unto death, and I will give thee a," and circle “crown of life."

note Matthew 7:13-14

However you prefer, at the end of verse 10, note that this is the end of the study.

Each one of these steps are equally as important. I pray this is helpful in your studies!
