"You’ve never fail and you won’t start now.” This verse from the hymn “Oceans,” gives me chills. It is very comforting to be able to know and find peace that God and His words are never failing and to know He will never leave me. Psalms 33:4 says the “Word of the Lord is right…” Habakkuk, the prophet, questioned God of his power and if He was there: “O Lord, how long shall I cry, And You will not hear? Even cry out to You, “violence!” And you will not save”( Habakkuk 1:2). God states in Hebrews 13:5, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” God will never abandon us. He is always there when we want to come to Him or come back. God was with Israel even when they turned away at times. He was with them till the end. And He was with Joshua when, Joshua, had to step up and lead Israel. Deuteronomy 31:8, “And the Lord, He is the one who goes before You. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” Not only will God never fail us His words will never fail us. His words are true, and His promises are kept, even from the beginning. In Genesis 9:11-13, God put a rainbow in the sky to symbolize His promise to never flood the earth again. Has His promise failed? No, it has not. And it will not fail today. Another promise is the 1st coming of His son, Isaiah 7:14: “…virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and will call Him Immanuel.” Fulfillment of that promise was when the angel Gabriel sent by God came to Mary to tell her she was going to bear a son named Jesus, the Son of God in Luke 1. These promises that God has kept and many more proves God’s words never fail us. We should try and do the same by keeping our word with others. Live after His example. People in this life will fail you at times and knowing that God never failed Noah’s family, the Israelites, Job, Jonah, and many others, is comforting to know; because I know God will never, fail me and he won’t start now.
